International AffiliationIMC USA is a founding member of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI), branded as CMC-Global. ICMCI’s vision is to advance our profession worldwide, by being the leader in the development of management consulting as a global profession that drives social and economic success.
More than thirty (30) years ago on May 10th, 1987, IMC USA Chair John Roethle CMC FIMC, inspired and orchestrated the founding of ICMCI, by inviting 32 like-minded senior executives in Paris. The foundation meeting was held at the Concorde Lafayette Hotel, where the assembled delegates soon found common ground, leading to the formation of a board of trustees by the member institutes. A paper regarding “Reciprocity between Management Consulting Institutes” was also prepared by Michael Shays FIMC for ICMCI. The founding list included 32 delegates from 9 countries, with more than 1/3 from IMC USA, who explored the opportunities between professional institutes in certifying individual management consultants. John Roethle, along with Michael Shays FIMC and other IMC USA delegates were instrumental not only in establishing ICMCI, but also bearing office for more than a decade, during its growth years.
