Thank you to Julia Demkowski, CMC® for her hard work and dedication to IMC USA during her time as Chair/CEO. I am excited to step into this new role and continue the efforts of our entire board to grow the organization and provide our members with value. I’d like to welcome our newest board members and thank those that have served during the previous term.

As Chair/CEO, my number one priority is to keep IMC USA mission focused. Our Competency Framework, Code of Ethics, CMC Certification and Academy are just a few of the resources that set us apart from the competition. I envision a future where IMC USA has a reputation for being the go-to source for ethical management consulting, a diverse and growing membership, and where our branding, communication and website reflect the value that IMC USA and its members bring to the marketplace. I strongly believe in our mission and a focused approach to governing will generate opportunities for our clients and members.

I had the pleasure of working with Julia while serving as Chair Elect to help create an updated set of strategic goals and objectives. We started the year by hosting our annual Leadership Summit in March 2023 for all volunteers. The Summit provided an overview of IMC USA’s strategic direction and how chapter, committee, and board volunteer leaders can support IMC USA’s mission and goals. Training for the 2023-2024 Board of Directors was held last month. The training provided a refresher on our fiduciary responsibilities, a review of our strategic priorities and a set of new board norms. We have more work to do. I look forward to meeting and engaging with you to see this through.

Our conference and marketing committees have been hard at work during the past few months to prepare for this year’s annual conference scheduled for November 10-12th. Planning for Consult-Con 2023 is underway and nearing completion. The conference presents a great opportunity to build relationships with other members, sponsors and our staff. We are excited to unveil the conference theme later this month, so stay tuned for more information coming soon!

While you wait for the annual conference over the next few months, you can still continue your professional education and development through IMC USA. Our learning management system is now active and available for consultants to enroll in their preferred courses online and on-demand. IMC USA currently offers the ISO 20700 Training and QuickStart - both which assist consultants in their overall management consultancy practice.

Finally, IMC USA recently completed the recertification process for members whose certifications were nearing the three-year renewal period. The deadline to recertify as a CMC® was June 30th. IMC USA is the only organization to offer certification for management consultants. Interested in taking your consultancy practice to the next level?
