Dr. Dawn Cone is Founder/CEO of DSC Consulting Solutions, LLC. As a Management Consultant and Executive Coach, she brings 25 years of experience specializing in individual, team, and organizational effectiveness. Dawn’s clients have spanned across several industries including government, healthcare, education, finance, retail, non-profit, utilities, and professional services. Her focus is on achieving visible and sustainable results that align with organizational goals.

Dawn draws from her background in human behavior, leadership development, training, and research – combining strategy and innovation for maximum impact and value. Her areas of expertise include organization culture change, executive development, collaborative leadership, individual, team, and organizational assessment, interpersonal & team effectiveness, employee engagement, leveraging diversity, and bringing organizational vision to life.

As a trusted advisor, Dawn supports goal achievement and sustained positive change by helping clients tackle the roadblocks that stall progress and building in strategies to reinforce desired outcomes. She is intentional about building relationships based on trust, collaboration and mutual accountability. Her approach involves formal assessment to clarify strengths and challenges, along with focused feedback aimed at translating insight into action.

As a seasoned speaker, trainer and facilitator, Dawn has delivered numerous presentations to a variety of audiences across the country. She has also presented her research on Perceptions of Cultural Groups at Work at both national and international professional conferences.

Dawn is a licensed psychologist and earned her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology and Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University in San Diego, California. Upon completion of her degrees, she received her program’s Outstanding Doctor of Philosophy award and the RHR International Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award. She is certified in The Hogan Development Suite and Korn Ferry Leadership Architect and has served as Adjunct Professor teaching at both graduate and undergraduate levels. In addition to being a member of IMC USA and the Society of Consulting Psychology, she also serves on the Board of Directors of the National Entrepreneurs Association, as a Consultant Board Member of Temeku Life Center, and serves alongside her husband as founder of The Power Company Kids Club – a nonprofit serving children in the Detroit, Michigan area for the past 27 years.

Since joining IMC USA, Dawn has been a Michigan-based at-large member (most recently joining the So. Cal chapter). Dawn’s goals in joining in the Board of Directors are to actively promote:

  • Diverse membership growth (specialty area/practice, demographics, etc.) - expanding the member base to be more inclusive
  • Enhancing the new member experience – providing opportunities for meaningful connection (particularly for at-large members), enhancing access to available resources
  • Balancing tradition & innovation – evaluating and keeping the traditions that make IMC USA unique and meaningful, while introducing important changes that keep it viable and growing
  • Increasing communication and transparency with current members to increase buy-in and engagement of programs and initiatives
